Cobble stone streets - Uruguay

Colonia Del Sacramento, Uruguay

The coast of Argentina and Uruguay are divided by the Rio Plata. Taking a short boat ride in a plywood catamaran across the brackish river we landed in Colonia. A popular vacation spot for many Argentinians, this quiet sea side town with white sand beaches and cobble stone streets was the perfect place to relax after the craziness of Buenos Aires.

Renting bicycles 6 of us set out on an adventure along the coast. With a picnic lunch and bikinis on all we needed was a beach to swim at. The brown water was surprisingly warm and exactly what we needed on such a hot day!

During our last dinner in Colonia a wicked storm rolled in across the rio and gave us the most beautiful skies and lightening. Loving Uruguay so far.
