Minca
After 5 days of trekking to the lost city in the mud we were ready for some R&R. Heading up into the hills above Santa Marta we were in Minca. Arriving at our hostel we were in love. The view, the pool, the people, the food, the weather! Why go anywhere else?!
Hostal Oscar's Place
We learned that this pool is filled everyday from the river and emptied every night through turbine generating the evenings electricity.
Mangoes
Sour Mango?
Out for dinner
Amazing sunsets
Lights of Santa Marta
View from our bedroom
View from the shower!
Big poisonous snake... thankfully dead
At the coffee factory
The four different grades of coffee being sorted
The workers picking through every bean separating the good from bad
Coffee beans
After the coffee factory we opted for the safer route (sin moto taxi) and walked back down the hills stopping along the way at a waterfall.
A quick stop at a swimming hole to cool off
Iguana
A much needed glass of vino and relaxing in the hammock
Chris slaving away in the kitchen making coconut milk
He even cooled it in the pool!
Amazing sunsets, we didn't want to leave!
Taganga
Heading back down out of the hills we went over to Taganga for a dive. We saw beautiful sea creatures and corals!
In the sea
Green moray eel
Lobster
Lion fish (both invasive and poisonous)
Pipe fish
Lunch stop
Hanging in Taganga after the dive, the locals are so chill.
