Spending the next 4 days in Lima was a perfect start. It was clean, lively and there were lots of tourists. Ironically the first other travelers we met were from Vancouver - go figure. Walking the cliff along the ocean was peaceful and a nice change from the bustling city and non stop horn honking. Heading into downtown we saw the changing of the guards and the Catacombs. Eating at our first hole in the wall restaurant we looked at the menu and picked something. Having no idea what we ordered the man comes past our table with a whole raw fish, and the biggest grin on his face. Looking at each other - uh oh, what did we order? 5 minutes later out comes a huge plate of rice, potatoes and the whole fried fish- head, fins, tail and all. It was fabulous! Learning the name for fish - trucha, we now know.
